Raptors got another win in the MABL Prem when they hosted Bolton last night. The Bolton team included ex-Raptor Matt Ngara making his frist return following his departure from the club and was welcomed with open arms by his former team mates. Then the whsile blew and it was time for business as the Raptors looked to secure another win that should keep them in the Premier division next season.
Raptors were out of the blocks quickly behind some excellent play from Jalees Siddiq and Tom Platt and raced to a 15 point lead by the end of the first quarter. Jalees and Tom kept firing throughout the game, while Ken Masser and Luke French looked to control the tempo under some ball pressure from teh Bolton guards. Matthew Worsley and Mike Tibbs exerted their physical size and strnght and dominated the boards with the help of Platt who had a series of crucial offensive rebound put backs.
As the game wore on Raptors slowly increased their lead despite some good shooting and mini-runs from the Bolton team. Cameron Bradshaw was a welcome addition who brough some energy off the bench and had a number of fantastic fast break layups.
Overall it was a solid team performance from a team missing arguably their three best players in Aaron Kay, Allen Hall and Steven Graham but they still proved to have enough and ran out comfortable winners 74-56.
