Raptors AGM - 21/5/13


Rossendale Raptors will be holding their AGM on Tuesday 21st May 2013 at Haslingden SPorts Centre at 7:30pm. ALl other practices that night will be cancelled so that parents and club members can attend. We hope you will take the opportunity to come along and hear about the future of the club, and some small ways which you may be able to support the clubs growth.

Please find below a table which outlines the various committee roles that we are looking for volunteers to fill. If you would like to volunteer for a particular role then please dont hesitate to contact Ken Masser on ken.masser@rossendale raptors.co.uk prior to the meeting if at all possible.

We look forward to a godd night and hope that you'll join us.

Required Skills/ Qualifications

Chairman

- Manage partnerships and relationships with other groups and organisation

- oversee the other committee members

- Develop club medium and long term strategy

- Club management and sport development experience

- Passion for basketball and good network within the sport and the community

- Good leadership, management and organisational skills

- Ability to delegate

Treasurer

- Oversee club accounts and budgets

- Provide a budget to each committee member that requires budget  and track and approve any budgetary spend

- Provide monthly financial update to committee

- Produce end of year accounts for AGM

- Work with Fundraising and Grants officers to develop additional revenue streams

- Some accountancy knowledge desirable

- Good financial management skills

- Willingness to chase debts if required

Club Secretary

- Train all team secretaries

- Manage EB online registration portal

- Keep and up to date database off all members

- Provide media officer with weekly updates of new contact information for email updates etc

- keep relevant paperwork relating to all club activities

- Good organisation and administration skills

- Willingness to chase other people for information

Coaching and Development Manager

- Oversee all club coaches and develop coaching standards

- Run quarterly coaching workshops for coaches

- Train new volunteers to assist with sessions

- Develop outline club coaching plan

- Level 2/3 coaching certificate and significant coaching experience.

- Willingness to work with both new and experienced coaches to develop coaching across the club

Media Officer

- Manage website with support from ISSL including the posting of regular articles and features

- Plan and implement weekly/monthly social media updates

- Chase weekly match reports from team secretaries and forward to local paper and place on website

- Develop a media and marketing plan to promote the club

- liaise with club videographer and promote game day highlights, player and coach interviews etc

- Write and send monthly email newsletters and adhoc email updates to database

- some media experience an advantage

- basic understanding of websites an advantage but full training given

- addiction to social media (mainly Facebook and twitter)

- Good written skills

- Art and design skills including photoshop or similar an advantage, however basic training can be given

 

Social Secretary

- Plan and organise social activities for the club including annual awards event

- work with team secretaries to engage with all club members

- Fun sociable personality with some organisation and leadership skills.

Fundraising Officer

- Oversee all club fundraising events

- Plan new fundraising initiatives

- Work with treasurer to develop fundraising plan to support clubs ongoing activities.

- Creativity

- Willingness to help!

- Fundraising experience an advantage but not necessary

National League Manager (including Game day)

- Support head coach in booking training venues and dealing with player issues

- Manage Home games including

> Working with officiating development, Merchadising, etc to ensure all round game day experience

> Manage music and performers such as street dancers, PA etc

 

 

- Good communication and organisation skills

- Willingness to attend majority of home games on a Saturday evening

Grants Officer

- Research and apply for grants for the club

- Keep required grant data

- Report on grants at their conclusion

- Good written communication skills

- Some experience of applying for grants an advantage but not essential

National League Secretary

- Be the main team contact for the team

- Organise table officials for home games with support of officiating Development.

- ensure all participants complete membership forms

- send team membership details through to club secretary

- collect player subs and liaise with treasurer

- provide match reports to media officer weekly (can be delegated!)

- Regular attendance at practice and matches

- Reasonable organisation skills

Second Team Secretary

- Be the main team contact for the team

- Organise table officials for home games with support of officiating Development.

Ladies Secretary

- Be the main team contact for the team

- Regular attendance at practice and matches

- Reasonable organisation skills

Equipment and Merchandise Officer

- Maintain an asset register of all clubs asset (balls, kits etc)

- Purchase new items when required

- Manage the purchase and sale or merchandise within a budget

- Develop innovative merchandising ideas

- Regular attendance at practice and matches

- Reasonable organisation skills

Volunteer Co-ordinator

- Maintain database of volunteers

- Proactively recruit new volunteers

- Work with Officiating development, coach development and National League Manager to identify opportunities and training for volunteers

- Passion for volunteering

- Good communication skills

Junior representative

- Represent the juniors on the committee

- Attend committee meetings

- Speak with other juniors about how the club could improve

- Good communication skills

- Confidence to raise concern with senior club members

Officiating Development

- Promote officiating within the club

- Keep up to date with relevant courses and strive to have people attend

- Support team secretaries in identifying officials for their matches

- Some officiating skills and experience.

- Referee or table official qualifications an advantage

Child Protection and Clubmark Officer

- Keeping Clubmark paperwork up to date

- Being available for contact by parents with concerns

- Ensuring health and safety standards are observed at Club sessions

- Providing annual clubmark information to England Basketball

- Safe guarding and protecting children qualification (3 hours course)

- Training re clubmark given

- Ability to attend training periodically to review standards
