Junior Update

Over the last few weeks our juniors have been having some excellent performances in the Lancashire Development League.

U12s

Our U12s are really progressing well and seem to be really enjoying training on a Tuesday evening. So far this season they’ve had one tournament where they played some 3v3 and a competitive game against Oldham. Despite losing narrowly to a slightly older Oldham team, its was big Joe who was the standout performer for the team. However, all the players were excellent, and look forward to their next tournament on the 30th of November.

U14s

The U14’s (many of which play up from the U12s) are doing well in their CVL. Many of the other teams have older bigger players, but the Raptors look good and theres lots of potential for the future as many of the team have 2/3 years left in the age group.

In their first game they got a good win against Burnley, but have since had losses to Blackburn 33-6 and Preston 54-8. As the team grows in experience, confidence and gain a few inches they’ll continue to be competitive. The Fry twins (Antonia and Jon) have been really good for this team so far, and everyone who’s been on court have played extremely well.

U16s

Our U16s are doing really well in the CVL in what is a competitive age group. They narrowly lost to Burnley 37-20 but had several key players missing. They then lost a close game against Blackburn Phoenix 41-37 before beating Blackburn comfortably two weeks later 43-25. Matt Fry, Callum Lawrence, Dominic Martin and Nick Yarwood have been doing a lot of the scoring, but the whole team has gelled together well and continues to improve.
