Rangeley joins Raptors

The Raptors have are delighted that Mark Rangeley has decided to join the Raptors for the remainder of the season. Mark has signed with Rossendale on the very last day of the transfer window and we are hoping that he'll integrate well into the team this season, and in future years as well.

Mark is a talented young player from Blackpool who has spent the last two seasons playing for Huddersfield Heat following some time playing basketball at college in Iowa (USA). As a 6'6 shooting guard who can play in the backcourt or the frontcourt, Mark gives the team great flexibility.

Mark averaged 29 points and 8 rebounds last season and guided the Heat to a Division 3 title, and has been a key part of the Huddersfield team thats currently competing at the top of Division 2.

Coach Ken Masser commented: "We were very comfortable with our team and had no plans to bring in anyone else. But when Mark apporached us and expressed a desire to join the team, we were delighted to bring him on board. His size, athleticism, defensive quickness and ability to score will give us something extra off the bench that will help keep us very competitive and give us some extra depth."

Mark was delighted to have secured the move; "I'm very happy to sign with Rossendale. The Club has a great community feel and I'm going to enjoy playing for my local Lancashire based National League team. I'm looking forward to helping the team in any way I can to push for promotion this year, and hope to be part of the journey to the top of English basketball over the next couple of years."

"The team is obviously really talented already and I think I'll fit in well and have something to offer. Ken does a great job of keeping people involved and I think my game can develop further with the help of the coaches at the Raptors. The team has a really good vibe - its going to be fun!"

With reported interest from BBL teams including Manchester and Liecester it seems the Raptors have got a top British prospect on the books for this season and hopefully years to come. You can see Mark in action in this mixtape that was put together a few years ago. This is Mark playing back in high school. Four or five years on his taller, faster, stronger and has developed his game a lot which scary considering how good he is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NlHPNSS6ig
