The Raptors have partnered with Rossendale Leisure Trust to support the launch of a new girls netball club in Rossendale. The newly formed Ravens will be running training sessions on a Saturday morning for girls aged 10-16. In the future as the two clubs grow and work together we hope to form a really good partnership that will enhance the sporting provision in Rossendale for young people.
The basketball club will be the supporting the new netball club with sales, marketing, admin and other backroom services to help them launch in a professional way and get the Netball Club up and running.
Katie Miller, Club development officer for Rossendale Leisure Trust commented:
"There are limited opportunities for teenage girls to participate in team sports within the valley, and at the moment there is no junior netball club operating in the area despite a lot of netball being played in schools. We've teamed up with Rossendale Raptors Basketball Club who are supporting the venture with their experience and resources. Following the support of the Raptors we hope to help develop an independent thriving junior club that offers opportunities for girls to participate in netball outside of school and compete in junior teams. It is great to see the Raptors offering this new club support, I think both clubs will have an excellent relationship.
We hope to quickly develop a strong brand for the Netball club that people can recognise and relate to, and quickly establish good quality sessions that the girls enjoy. We've teamed up with some experienced netball coaches and are really excited to get started!"
We wish good luck to the Ravens in this exciting new project and are excited to move ahead with what will be a terrific partnership.
